Antolin Alcaraz: Wigan defender wanted by a number of clubs
understands a host of clubs from the
Premier League and the continent are chasing Wigan Athletic defender
Antolin Alcaraz.
The 30-year-old is out of contract at the DW Stadium and is set to leave the club following their relegation from the top-flight.
Alcaraz enjoyed three highly successful seasons with Wigan following his free transfer move from Club Brugge after he impressed at the World Cup finals in 2010.
The Paraguay international missed a chunk of Wigan's run-in to the end of the Premier League season and many feel his absence played a major part in the Latics' failure to stay up.
Now it is understood that Alacaraz is being tracked by a number of different sides, one of which is unsurprisingly Everton where Roberto Martinez - who signed him for Wigan - is now in charge.
However, Martinez does have competition for his signature with at least another three Premier League sides chasing him, while clubs in Spain, Italy, Germany, Turkey and the Middle East are also ready to offer him terms.
